Since today a new iPeng version – 1.2.7 is available on the App Store.
iPeng 1.2.7, along with an earlier 1.2.5.1 update, is mainly a bugfix release that also brings some minor improvements over 1.2.5:
- Easier discrimination between „On/Off“ states for Squeezeboxes and between the active and non-active players
- Dutch translation
- iPeng should no longer lose the connection to the server when waking up from the background
- Other improvements and fixes around WOL, caching and the display of very large covers, Global Search, some context menus and for moving players to MySqueezebox.com
- iPeng will no longer switch the active player when becoming active from the background
- Cover art thumbs now also show in full resolution on iPad
- Proximity sensor support with “Prevent Standby” no longer requires an App restart to switch state

Just noticing that when the track info window first opens there is no show artwork link. Clicking more info opens the cover art, not more info. Going back, then the show artwork and mor info links work popery. This is on tracks that are not playing. Currently playing tracks seem ok.

Johnny,
I don’t see this. Which Squeezebox Server version is this and do you open the track info menu from the NowPlaying screen or from an album?

Server 7.5.1
Selecting track info from album. It does not always happen.
Currious, but not a big deal…

Maybe this has something to do with server side caching of the menus. I don’t know.
This is not a menu iPeng creates itself but a server created one.

Ok, no problem.

I am having problems using iPeng. I have iOS4 et iPeng 1.2.7
First when I am in Album View and select the Mode Play in the top right corner, it doesn’t play the song when I click on a track.. It just ereases the playlist and that’s all. I have to go through the Song Info by letting my finger on the track for a while and then I can press play in the list and it works.
Secondly, in Album View, it doesn’t matter in which Mode I am, I can’t use the function “all song” next to the cover. It erases the playlist and that’s it. So, play all and add all doesn’t work. It also doesn’t work if I let my finger on it and go to the Song info. None of the action of the list actually works..

Is the server running on Windows 7?
Have you tried to flush the cache?
What happens if you press a cover on the “Albums” view?
I’ve heard of a similar case and in that case log files of the server showed that there was something severely wrong with how the server talked to it’s database and thus it could not play any albums at all, only single tracks (it also did not work through th SqueezePlay interface on the SB touch).

Hi!
It seems I am not able to get a proper context menu when browsing my favorites.
I can tap the icon in favorites list to clear playlist and play the item, but tapping the name of the item (song, album or radio station) or holding finger on it, I get no options for adding item to current playlist or playing next ect. I only get an info box showing Title and URL of the item. Therefore there is on adding to the the current playlist of favorites. Am I doing something wrong, or is this intentional behavior of Ipeng?
(I think this annoyance has emerged in one of the later updates, but I’m not sure)
Setup:
SBS 7.5.0 on a qnap 419p NAS
Ipeng 1.2.7 on Iphone 3gs IOS 4.1
Thanks
Kasper

Yes, that’s a known issue with 7.5.0
I’ll do an update to iPeng but if you need a short term fix an update to Squeezebox Server 7.5.1 should help, too.

just downloaded the app and got it working. everything seems cool, except there’s a weird bug…. the squeezebox player bar that looks like should be at the bottom of the screen from the screen shots i’ve seen here, is actually about 1/4 the way up my screen. so it blocks the status bar in now playing, meaning i can’t control shuffle or repeat, and blocks the editing functions in the edit playlist mode, meaning i can’t delete tracks from the playlist. has anyone else ever had this bug? or am i just missing something obvious?

Hi everybody,
I just like to report some strange effect with the latest ipeng (probably also the version before): It consumes a lot of Ipod-baterry power though it’s inactive.
If I leave the program open but it’s not playing any music the battery is empty the next morning (or some 7-8 hours later). If I shut the program the attery lasts some days. I have none of these options “keep connection…” etc. activated and I#m sure thath this problem didn’t exist some two releases previous to the current.
Any ideas on that one? Ipeng’s a fine tool but this battery issue is a problem as I can only recharge with the computer….
cheers,

This is indeed a known issue for some users with the current release. We are working on a solution.
